Changing major at Cal Poly Pomona?

Andrew asked:

Hi, i was wondering if i become accepted at Cal Poly Pomona as a major other than Architecture or Civil engineering (my top 2 major choices) could i easily switch my major to either one of those? I know those are the most in demand programs there, and i might have trouble getting into the school if i list those as my majors, i had GPAs of 3.5 and 3.7 my junior year with 3 AP classes but i got C’s in Pre-Cal. And i don’t want to hear that i should not take these majors because im not that good in math please, because i’m already retaking Pre-Cal, so i can better understand it. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

How difficult is it to become a civil engineer?

Chuck asked:

I had just been accepted to Cal Poly Pomona, and I was thinking about civil engineering. However, I am afraid to dive into that major because I worry that it may be way to difficult, and I should just go into nursing. I could see myself as a nurse more than an engineer, but I’m confused on what to do!

Athena asked:

First of all, I want to major in History so that I can then go to law school. Right now I am at a community college in Texas doing my basics. I want to go to California for college but I don’t know what city or university.
Does anyone have any recommendations? I’d like to be farther to the south. Around Pomona or San Diego but I want to know want are the best places to live in that are big cities.
I don’t want any more suburbs.
Thanks so much!
